| Kempty Falls |

15km on the Chakrata road, from Mussoorie is Kempty Falls. At an altitude of 4300 ft located in a beautiful valley and surrounded by high mountains, it is the biggest & prettiest.
Children as well as adults enjoy bathing at the foot of the falls. It is also a very popular picnic spot. |

Camels Back Road |

It starts from Kulri and ends at the library covering a total distance of about 3 km. It is a pleasant walk or horse ride with a camels rock enroute (a life like resemblance). Sunset view of the Himalayas is superb. |

Children’s Lodge |

Children’s Lodge, the highest point in the area, is 5 km's from the Tourist Office. Reached by foot or on ponies, the summit offers great views of snow peaks. Alternatively, Camel’s Back road, a 3-km road encircling the base of Gun Hill is also a good place to view the breathtaking Himalayan sunset.
Named after a nearby rock formation that looks like a camel’s back, a walk or pony ride along this road yields the sights of snow mountains. 8 km's from the center of town is the house where Sir George Everest, the first Surveyor General of India lived and worked. |

| Mussoorie Lake |

6 km before Mussoorie, this is a newly developed picnic spot on Dehradun Mussoorie road. It is a delightful spot.
Paddle boats are available. It commands an enchanting view of Doon Valley & the nearby villages. |

Clouds End |

The bungalow built in 1838 by a British Major was one of the first four buildings of Mussoorie. The bungalow has since then been converted into a hotel called Clouds End, and is situated at the extreme west of Mussoorie Hill, 8 km from library. The resort is surrounded by thick forest, offers a wide variety of flora & fauna besides a panoramic view of snow clad Himalayas & Yamuna river. |

Tibetan Temple |

This temple is located in Happy valley area of Mussoorie which is 3 km's west of the Library. Marked by the Tchechencholing gompa overlooking the Doon valley, the settlement also includes a school and some shops selling Tibetan handicraft items.
The Bhadraj temple , dedicated to the elder brother of Lord Krishna (incarnation of Vishnu), is worth visiting for its views of the Doon valley and Chakrata range. |

Lake Mist |

This place is seven kilometers on way to Kempty. Lake mist offers a perfect resting place for tired and weary tourists. One has to pay Rs. 25 to enter Lake mist. There are good accommodation facilities here. |

| Gun Hill |

Gun Hill, a curious flat-topped hill is the second highest peak of Mussoorie. You can reach it on foot or on a pony by a bridle path from the Mall. Alternatively a 400 meter ropeway takes you up to the hilltop on a scintillating journey with great views.
From the hilltop you get to see some of the more prominent peaks including Banderpunch, Srikanth, Pithwara and the Gangotri group. In colonial times, a gun placed on the summit used to fire at mid-day for locals to adjust their watches. |
